The panel scriber is designed to put those recessed panel lines on your model that make it look so realistic.

It does not separate the plastic and leave a ditch with a raised edge on both sides of the ditch, as other scribers do. The Bare Metal Panel Scriber will actually take out a hair of plastic each time you draw it along and leave a nice recessed line.
